Vol. 378 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dublin Community Facilities.

67.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will confirm that a further grant of £60,000 will be available for the completion of the Cherry Orchard Community Centre, Dublin 10 in view of the very marked needs of the area which is totally lacking in any community facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

69.

asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the facts surrounding the closing of a youth club (details supplied) in Dublin 8, and in view of the planning problems which arose in the project to replace the clubhouse he will now agree to meet the application for £90,000 aid in full so as to allow this project to go ahead bearing in mind that it is now ready to start.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 67 and 69 together.

I have received applications for assistance for these projects under the amenity grants scheme which is being financed from the national lottery surplus. The applications are being considered. I am not yet in a position to indicate whether it will be possible to grant aid the projects.
