asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which a mortgage subsidy was paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath in 1985 and 1986; the reason the subsidy in respect of 1987 has not yet been paid and when it will be paid.

The first and second instalments of the mortgage subsidy were paid on 18 November 1985, and 22 January, 1987, respectively. The claim for the third instalment was received on 18 December 1987, and payment has now been made.

There has been no undue delay; an inspection was carried out recently and the grant will be paid as soon as possible.
