Vol. 378 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Kildare School Accident.

276.

asked the Minister for Education if she has received details of an accident which took place in a school (details supplied) in County Kildare; if she accepts liability in respect of said accident; if the school authorities refused to accept responsibility; if so, the reason for same, and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have made an inquiry to the school authorities in the matter.

The position is that insurance against liability for injury to pupils and teachers at a national school is a matter for the board of management of the school. Any claim or inquiry should, therefore, be addressed to the chairperson of the board.
