Vol. 378 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Kerry School Transport.

286.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for her refusal to reroute a school bus collecting a person (details supplied) in County Kerry for school at the Nano Nagle School, Lixnaw, County Kerry.

Transport facilities have been offered to the pupil in question on a feeder service which mainly serves the Glin area, County Limerick and connects at Listowel with a main service operating to Lixnaw school.

The standard of service available to this pupil is reasonable, as the distance to the route is approximately half a mile. Rerouting would entail an earlier start for a number of other pupils on the service. My Department do not propose, therefore, to reroute the service to propose a home pick-up for the pupil.
