I have no plans at present for a national audit of the products of companies by the agencies under my aegis.
The agencies in question already maintain comprehensive databases containing particulars of the capabilities of the vast majority of individual firms. This data is updated on a continuing basis. It is used by the agencies to assist the marketing activities of the firms in question.
The question of improving our export marketing performance is being considered in the context of the preparation of the National Marketing Plan referred to in the Programme for National Recovery.
