Vol. 378 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

132.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment will be made.

There has been no undue delay; the receipt of additional information requested from the applicant is awaited.

133.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Wexford did not make application for a mortgage subsidy in time because he erroneously believed that the scheme applied only to building society mortgages whereas he obtained a local authority loan; and if he will indicate whether this application can be sanctioned as the person concerned was otherwise qualified and received a new house grant on 18 March 1987.

A valid application for the mortgage subsidy has been received from this person and approval issued to him on 17 December last.
