Vol. 378 No. 10

Written Answers. - Planning and Development Acts.

26.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any proposals to amend the local government planning and development Acts in view of the recent court decisions.

It is routine practice in my Department to assess court decisions which relate to the operation of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Acts, 1963 to 1983, and to consider what action may be required to maintain or improve the effective operation of the Acts. Any legislative proposals which I consider appropriate will be brought forward in the normal way. Proposals for legislation are at present being developed in relation to derelect sites, the compensation provisions of the planning Acts and related matters.
