Vol. 378 No. 10

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

83.

asked the Minister for Finance when the details of the Government's programme for decentralisation of Government offices to County Limerick, Ennis, County Clare and Nenagh, County Tipperary will be published; when tenders will be invited; when it is expected the work will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Revenue Commissioners are at present considering the specific areas of work to be transferred to Limerick, Ennis and Nenagh and the accommodation required. The Office of Public Works are in possession of sites in Ennis and Nenagh and are actively pursuing the acquisition of a suitable site in Limerick. As soon as these matters are settled tenders will be invited from private developers for the provision of the accommodation. While every effort is being made to expedite the above process I am not at this stage in a position to state when contracts will be signed and the accommodation completed.
