Vol. 378 No. 10

Written Answers. - Abbotstown Research Laboratory.

94.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if there is habitable accommodation available to the director and farm manager of Abbotstown Research Laboratory, Castleknock, Dublin 15, in the grounds there; the reason they are not in occupation of that accommodation as were their predecessors; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The accommodation which is available at Abbotstown for the Director of the Veterinary Research Laboratory has been unoccupied since 1974 because successive directors have chosen not to live in it. This accommodation is not in habitable condition at present.

The accommodation which attached to the post of farm manager at Abbotstown has been vacant for some time. It is not in habitable condition.

My Department are at present considering the question of accommodation for an assistant farm manager as it is a condition of his appointment that he reside at Abbotstown.
