The proportion of women in higher management positions in the public service would not in my view be significantly influenced by bringing the Local Appointments and Civil Service Commissions within the scope of the Employment Equality Act.
As the Deputy will be aware, I am currently reviewing that Act and I will examine the matter in that context.
