asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a local authority house surrender grant of £5,000 has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that Cork Corporation assured this person that his grant would be paid.

It is a condition of the £5,000 grant scheme that applicants must have been local authority tenant purchasers of at least three years standing on or before 27 March 1987. The applicant's eligibility for the grant in this regard is being examined in the Department in conjunction with Cork Corporation.
