The governing structures of regional technical colleges are as set out in Circular Letter 29/69 as modified by letter of 29 March 1979 from my Department. Copies of the relevant documents are being forwarded to the Deputy.
I am aware that a number of regional technical colleges have academic councils which have been set up on a non-statutory basis, the composition and functions of which are a matter for the authorities of the colleges concerned.
