I am informed by the Garda authorities that in the period from 1 January to 1 March 1988 offences recorded by the Garda in the Finglas area total 168, of which 36 have been detected so far. These figures are provisional at this stage, particularly those relating to detections. As the period in question is so recent it is to be expected that there will be further detections.
