56.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will receive a calf premium and suckler grant.

The calf and suckler cow premiums were paid on 5 and 19 February 1988 respectively directly into the bank account of the person named in accordance with an authorisation given by him.

57.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will receive the following: (1) headage payment (2) suckler grant (3) calf premium and (4) bull/heifer grant.

The person named will be paid his 1987 cattle and equines headage, calf premium, suckler cow and special beef premium schemes grants shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will receive a headage payment.

The applications for grants under the 1987 cattle and equines headage scheme of the person named and his wife have been amalgamated as provided for in the terms and conditions of the scheme and a joint payment in both names has already been made.

59.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a cattle headage grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named had an undeclared off-farm income since 1984 and a review of livestock grants paid to him was necessary.

Following the review, it has been established that he was ineligible for suckler cow scheme grants paid to him in 1984, 1985 and 1986. These overpayments are being recovered by deduction from his 1987 beef cow headage grants for which he is eligible. The balance due will be paid shortly.

60.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a grant for a slatted house will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

Two claims totalling £7,396 for payment of farm buildings grants under the farm improvement programme have been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in making grant payments.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a calf grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

When legal documents requested by my Department are supplied, the question of the registration of the person named as herdowner in succession to her late husband, and of payment of 1987 calf premium scheme grants will be considered further.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of cattle premia and headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment will be made.

A field staff vacancy in the Waterford area has caused some delays in processing headage and premium payments. The person named, however, will be paid her 1987 calf, suckler cow and special beef premiums shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of cattle premia to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment will be made.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will receive payment of a farm development scheme grant.

A grant of £4,971 under the farm improvement programme was paid on 8 March 1988.
