Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

72.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a house improvement grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork in view of the fact that the requested information has already been supplied.

Notification of completion of work has not been received.

73.

asked the Minister for the Environment if any decision has yet been made on the appeal lodged by Mr. Liam Aylward to his Department on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who was only paid a reduced amount of house improvement grant.

The grant approved in this case related to the costs, as estimated by the Department's inspector, of carrying out the various works. In accordance with the terms of the scheme the grants of £2,152 subsequently paid were based on the actual costs of the works as furnished by the applicant. On the basis of information since supplied by the applicant the grant payable is being increased by £133 to take account of certain additional works. The applicant has been so informed and payment of the extra amount will be made as soon as possible.
