Vol. 379 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) By-Pass.

78.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a request from Dublin County Council for a specific allocation for the provision of a line of railings at Glenview Park and N81 Tallaght by-pass at Tallaght, Dublin 24; if he will confirm that this specific allocation will be given by his Department for this essential work; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In November, 1987, Dublin County Council submitted a proposal to my Department for a grant for the completion of a line of railings at Glenview Park and at the N81 Tallaght by-pass.

The funds available for road grants in 1988 were fully allocated last November and there are no other sources of finance available from which additional grants could be made for this particular work. The local authority has been notified accordingly and has been advised that the cost of providing the railings may be charged against the 1988 grant for national secondary road maintenance.
