Following the Government decision in principle to transfer responsibility for short-term sickness payments to employers an inter-departmental committee was set up to advise the Government on all aspects of this matter and to have discussions with interested parties. It is not proposed to publish the conclusions of the committee but those conclusions will be taken into account by the Government when deciding the detailed arrangements for the introduction of the scheme.
