Vol. 379 No. 11

Written Answers. - Laois Housing.

79.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department will immediately approve application for rural cottages submitted by Laois County Council for erection from the allocation already approved by his Department for the County Council.

Laois County Council were notified of their capital allocation for local authority housing construction on 21 March 1988. This included a provision of £295,000 for new single houses/rural cottages, schemes of two to five houses and, where appropriate, demountable dwellings or mobile homes. At the same time they were asked to inform the Department of any proposals before the Department for approval (and to which the provision of £295,000 applied) which they wished to finance from such provision. A reply from the council is awaited.
