asked the Minister for the Environment the present stage of the plans for the provision of grants towards the mid-Galway group water scheme, phase 2A GWS and stage 3 of the regional portion of the same scheme; and if the finance will be provided for both in 1988.

A revised design for Phase 2A of the mid-Galway group water scheme to include the area around Mountain North, has recently been forwarded to Galway County Council for its approval. Further progress on the scheme must await the council's response and it is not possible to say at this stage what financing, if any, will be required in 1988.
Revised proposals for Zone 3 of the mid-Galway regional water supply scheme are under consideration in my Department but I am not in a position to say when a decision will be made.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare having regard to the fact that the construction work has already been inspected and passed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
