Vol. 380 No. 4

Written Answers. - Retention of Remedial Teacher.

177.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the need for St. James' Christian Brothers secondary school, Dublin 8, to retain their present remedial teacher notwithstanding that she would now be ex-quota; if her attention has further been drawn to the particular problems of the area serviced by the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

In the case of the school in question, incremental salary is currently being paid to three teachers in excess of the number warranted by reference to current staffing regulations. It is not open to me, therefore, in present circumstances to allocate additional teachers to the school.
