Vol. 380 No. 4

Written Answers. - Housing Grant Application.

124.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant is being refused to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the applicant was advised to forward receipts to his Department in order that he could be considered for the current £2,000 new house grant in a letter dated 25 May 1987 and as such receipts were forwarded on two occasions by the applicant to the Department where they appear to have been mislaid.

This application was received subsequent to 6 March 1987, the closing date for receipt of an application for a grant for a new house built by direct labour. Additional information was requested from the applicant to establish if a registered contractor was engaged in the construction of the house which is now a condition of entitlement to a grant. The documentation received does not establish that the applicant is eligible for a grant and he has been so informed.
