Vol. 380 No. 7

Written Answers. - EC Funding for International Fund.

17.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if the Government has made any progress in its attempts to obtain special funding from the EC for the International Fund set up under the Anglo-Irish Agreement.

The Government attach great importance to a European Community contribution to the International Fund for Ireland. We have sought on a number of occasions the agreement of the British Government to seeking such a contribution jointly, the most recent instance being at the last meeting of the Anglo-Irish intergovernmental conference on 4 May last. The Government look forward to an early decision by the British Government in this matter.
