I assume the Deputy is referring to the results of a survey which the Fire Services Council asked all fire authorities to undertake as part of the initial work on the development of a guideline on standards of fire cover. These surveys are being undertaken as an aid to the further development of work on the guideline — responsibility for which has been transferred to my Department — and the question of approval or otherwise to the submissions of individual fire authorities in this matter does not arise.
