Vol. 380 No. 8

Written Answers. - Former Land Commission (Dublin) Premises.

23.

asked the Minister for Finance the amounts expended on keeping the buildings formerly occupied by the Land Commission at Merrion Street, Dublin 2, in repair for each of the years 1985, 1986 and 1987; the amount being expended on security and/or watchmen.

Expenditure on the up-keep of the Merrion Street houses, numbered from 21 to 33 was £64,000, £30,500 and £20,300 approximately in 1985, 1986 and 1987. A small number of staff is still in occupation in some of the houses and security is provided by them during office hours and by a security system at other times. The cost of the security system was £5,600 and approximately £15,000 will shortly be expended in up-grading and extending it.
