Vol. 380 No. 8

Written Answers. - Rathcoffey (County Kildare) National School.

95.

asked the Minister for Education if she will quantify the extent of the required extra facilities at Rathcoffey national school, County Kildare; the costs involved in the provision of the these extra facilities; the likely schedule for the provision of the facilities; whether it is her intention to allow the project to proceed in the current year; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have agreed in principle to grant-aid a permanent extension to Rathcoffey national school, County Kildare, by the provision of four new classrooms and the conversion of the existing building to a general purposes room and ancillary accommodation. A cost plan for the scheme has not yet been approved.

Because of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for the national schools building programme it will not be possible to advance the architectural planning of the project further at present.
