Dáil Éireann debate -
Thursday, 19 May 1988

Vol. 380 No. 9

Business of Dáil.

The Minister of State is here to conclude the Second Stage of the Forestry Bill. I am aware, however, that a number of Opposition Deputies wish to speak on this Bill and we have already agreed to conclude next Thursday. In the absence of Opposition Members I propose that we adjourn.

Since this proposal is so considerate of absent Members, I presume there will not be any question of disagreement. Does Deputy Hussey agree?

The House is agreed. There was to have been a question on the Adjournment but Deputy Bernard Allen, to whom leave had been given, is not present.

Deputy Allen would not have expected the debate on this item to have finished earlier than 5 p.m. That was the clear expectation on the Order of Business.

That may be so but inquiries have been made and I take it that Deputy Allen is not in the House.

The Dáil adjourned at 4.45 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 24 May 1988.
