The person mentioned was deemed ineligible under the original scheme of installation aid for young farmers as the deed of transfer was signed subsequent to the termination of the scheme on 31 March 1987.
As announced in the budget, installation aid for young farmers is being reintroduced and it is my intention that the new aid should be back-dated to the termination of the original scheme. Details of the new arrangements have been submitted to the EC Commission for clearance and, following receipt of this clearance, they will be announced as soon as possible. Pending that announcement it is not possible to assess the eligibility of the person mentioned under the revised scheme.
