Vol. 380 No. 10

Written Answers. - CIE Pension Increase.

69.

asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport if he will sanction an application from CIE which has been with his Department since March 1988 regarding an increase of existing pension for persons (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who are CIE pensioners.

The proposed pension increases mentioned in the Deputy's question derive from a Labour Court recommendation (No. 10854) on a claim for adjustments in the CIE wages grade pension scheme to take account of wage movements in the company. Following consideration of the matter in my Department, and the Department of Finance, approval for the implementation of the Labour Court recommendation has issued to CIE. The company have been asked to forward the necessary draft amending pension schemes to me for examination and confirmation so that the increases can be implemented.
