Vol. 380 No. 10

Written Answers. - Blackrock (Dublin) Factory Pollution.

124.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the residents of Rowanbyrn, Blackrock, County Dublin, are concerned about pollution from a factory (details supplied); and the action, if any, he intends taking to ensure that this serious health hazard be abated.

Complaints about air pollution are the responsibility of the local authority concerned, in this case Dublin County Council. However, I understand that in response to a notice of High Court proceedings under the Air Pollution Act, 1987, issued by the council on 27 April, the company involved informed the council that the manufacturing process which caused the air pollution problem was terminated on 13 May 1988. The matter is being kept under review by the council.
