Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

48.

A grant of £1,239 under the farm improvement programme was paid on 19 May 1988.

49.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a grant for a silage slab will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

A claim under the farm improvement programme for payment of a grant of £1,154 has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in making grant payments.

50.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in having a hogget subsidy paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The person named does not qualify for sheep headage because he has no mountain sheep grazing lands in the district electoral division of Graiguenamanagh where he farms.
