Vol. 381 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cappanalea (County Kerry) Outdoor Pursuits Centre.

154.

asked the Minister for Education the reason she will not sanction the appointment of a secretary/manager to Cappanalea Outdoor Pursuits Centre, County Kerry, which is in receipt of substantial public funds.

A sum of £400,000 has been allocated from the national lottery funds for the staffing and management of certain outdoor education centres, including the Cappanalea Centre in County Kerry.

The level and structure of the staffing arrangements for the centres, together with the question of the necessary qualifications, conditions of service, etc. for the posts are at present being considered by my Department in consultation with the Department of Finance.

As soon as the final details of the staffing of outdoor education centres has been finalised my Department will then be in a position to sanction the appointment of the necessary staff at Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre.
