Vol. 381 No. 4

Written Answers. - Westmeath Land Allocation.

73.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath has not been allocated some of the lands (details supplied) by his Department because (a) he is not eligible and (b) the Land Commission have already swopped land with Westmeath County Council to facilitate the allocation over three years ago; if the Land Commission offered this person some of this holding four years ago; if so, the reason the transfer is not complete; if he will finalise this allocation; and, if so, when.

The allocation of land is reserved by law to the Land Commissioners and I have no function in the matter. However, I understand that the application of the person named for an allotment of land has been noted for consideration in connection with the preparation of a scheme for the division of the balance of the estate in question.
