Vol. 381 No. 6

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Allowance.

61.

asked the Minister for Health if the application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 for disabled person's maintenance allowance will be expedited, in view of the extremely long delay in this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The payment of disabled person's maintenance allowance in any individual case is a matter for determination by the health board concerned having regard to all the relevant circumstances in that case. I had inquiries made of the Eastern Health Board in this case and have been informed that the board are awaiting a specialist's medical report. On receipt of this report, a decision on the application will be made without delay.
