9.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in granting approved status to the Drogheda Homeless Aid Group, County Louth, who applied for same in March 1988.

154.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give approval status to Drogheda Homeless Aid, County Louth; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this voluntary organisation have provided a substantial premises for homeless men and a further small shelter for homeless women; that they hope to purchase and convert a bigger house for women; and that the Sisters of the Sienna Convent, Drogheda, have donated a house to them which requires substantial repair; if he will arrange for a contribution to them from the national lottery; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

155.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the application of Drogheda Homeless Aid Group, County Louth, for approved status in order to qualify for financial assistance under the special allocation of £3 million to voluntary organisations for the purpose of providing additional accommodation for homeless persons; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 9, 154 and 155 together.

There has been no delay. Following the receipt recently of additional details of the association's proposals for the provision of accommodation for homeless persons, approved status has been granted to them. This opens the way for the association to apply to the local authority for assistance from the special allocation of funds for the accommodation of homeless persons announced in the 1988 budget.
