Order of Business.

The Taoiseach

It is proposed to take Nos. 13, 6, 7, 8, 14 and 9. It is also proposed that the Dáil shall sit later than 5.30 p.m. today and business shall be interrupted not later than 7.30 p.m. It is further proposed that the proceedings on the Second Stage of No. 13 shall be brought to a conclusion, if not previously concluded, at 1.30 p.m. and that the speech of any Member called on shall not exceed 30 minutes and the Minister for the Environment shall be called on to conclude the debate not later than 1.10 p.m. It is further proposed that Nos. 6, 7 and 8 shall be taken without debate. It is further proposed that the proceedings on the Committee and Remaining Stages of No. 14 shall be brought to a conclusion, if not previously concluded, at 5.30 p.m. by one question which shall be put from the Chair and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only amendments set down by the Minister for Tourism and Transport.

It is further proposed that the debate on No. 9 shall not exceed two hours provided that the proceedings thereon, if not previously concluded, shall be brought to a conclusion at 7.30 p.m.

It is further proposed that the Dáil shall meet tomorrow at 10.30 a.m. and shall adjourn not later than 4.30 p.m. and that the business shall be confined to Estimates for the Public Services.

With your permission and in view of the critical importance of our marine environment generally I would like to ask the Taoiseach if we could expect an immediate reaction from his Government to the proposals to locate a radioactive nuclear waste dump off Rockall and if, at the very least, he will——

I am sorry, Deputy, this is not appropriate for the Order of Business. The Deputy will have to find another way of dealing with that matter. It is not appropriate now.

Perhaps I could ask the Taoiseach if we could expect, at the very least, that before any decision is made on this it would be considered under the EC Directive for environmental impact analysis? I put it to him, with your permission, that——

There are ways and means of raising matters of urgent public importance and the Deputy ought to pursue that avenue.

May I ask the Taoiseach if he would urge other creditor developed countries to follow the good example of President Mitterrand of France to reduce their debts to developing third world countries?

May I ask the Minister for Industry and Commerce what steps he is taking to safeguard the 420 jobs at Sunbeam Wolsey in Cork, which is up for sale because of the take-over in the United Kingdom of the Crowther group?

I sought that last night. I have put down a Private Notice Question today. I wish to raise on the Adjournment the failure of the Taoiseach and Government to take any steps in regard to the relocation of a factory to Liverpool——

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the serious difficulties encountered by Gaelscoil Íde, an Irish speaking school in the Donaghmede-Baldoyle area which must carry on teaching in three different locations, including a Nissen hut. The parents and staff are seeking the school be unified——
