Vol. 382 No. 7

Written Answers - Disabled Parents Training Allowance.

53.

asked the Minister for Health having regard to the fact that trainees in rehabilitation institutes receive disabled persons maintenance allowances instead of a training allowance from FÁS, whether a standard allowance should be given in this case to everybody participating in these schemes.

A working party has been examining the matter of training allowances for disabled people, including the question of the standardisation of those allowances. The group have now completed their report and their recommendations will be examined to see what changes, if any, should be made in the present system.
