asked the Minister for the Environment if he intends to approve the motorway scheme in respect of the N4 by-pass before the August construction industry holiday; and if not, the plans he has to cater for the obvious increase in traffic when the new section of the road within County Dublin is opened.

I presume the Deputy is referring to the Kildare County Council (Kilcock, Maynooth and Leixlip by-pass) motorway scheme. On 17 June, 1988, I made an order approving this scheme.
