Vol. 382 No. 9

Written Answers. - Irish Hospitals Sweepstakes.

163.

asked the Minister for Health the total current value of funds held in trust in respect of prizes won, but not claimed under Irish Hospitals Sweepstakes events.

164.

asked the Minister for Health if he will indicate (1) the portion of the total funds held in the Irish Hospitals Sweepstakes Trust attributable to (a) actual prizes at their original value and (b) interest accrued on unclaimed prize moneys (2) the number of individual prize units contained in the existing unclaimed prize fund (3) the lowest and highest value of individual unclaimed prizes (4) the year and sweepstake event to which the longest unclaimed prize unit relates and (5) the year and sweepstake event to which the most recent unclaimed prize unit relates.

I propose to take Questions No. 163 and 164 together.

The information is not available in my Department in the precise form requested by the Deputy. However, I understand that the net asset position in relation to those unpaid prizes, including accumulated interest, stood at £427,412 on 31 May 1987.
