Vol. 382 No. 10

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefit.

88.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange an appeal against the withdrawal of disability benefit for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 10; and if disability benefit will be reinstated in view of the facts of the case.

Payment of disability benefit to the person concerned was disallowed from 16 April 1988 following examination by a medical referee who expressed the opinion that she was capable of work. She appealed against the disallowance and was examined by a different medical referee who found her to be incapable of work from that date. Accordingly, payment of benefit was restored from 16 April 1988 and all benefit payable to date has been issued to her.
