Vol. 383 No. 1

Written Answers. - Leixlip (County Kildare) Garda Substation.

99.

asked the Minister for Finance if final agreement has been reached in relation to the location of a Garda sub-station at Leixlip, County Kildare; if and when this station is likely to be operational; if he foresees any difficulties in relation to the provision of this station; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

100.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position with regard to the provision of the proposed Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; whether agreement has been reached in relation to the actual location of the station in question; whether he has any plans to change from the original location of the proposed station; when and if the station is likely to be in operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 99 and 100 together.

The Commissioners of Public Works are continuing negotiations on a lease of premises at Leixlip, County Kildare for use as a Garda sub-station, accommodating four gardaí. With a view to determining the best and most economic way of providing the required accommodation, the commissioners are also inspecting a number of other premises which have recently been brought to their attention. It is not possible at this stage to say when the station will be in operation.
