asked the Minister for Justice if he has any plans to renovate and repair the Garda barracks at Longwood, County Meath; and if he has given any consideration to the request by the Community Council in Longwood that his Department hand over part of the garden of the Garda barracks there for the provision of flatlets for elderly people.

It is proposed to renovate and repair the Garda station and living accommodation at Longwood, Co. Meath, though it is not possible to say at this stage when work on the scheme will commence.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the entire garden of the station is required by the Gardaí and unfortunately it is not possible therefore to make a portion of it available to the Community Council.
