Vol. 383 No. 4

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

111.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason disability benefit was withdrawn from a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5; and when it is proposed to restore these payments.

Payment of disability benefit to the person concerned was disallowed from 4 September 1988 following examination by a medical referee who expressed the opinion that she was capable of work.

She appealed against the disallowance and arrangements were made to have her examined by a different medical referee on 7 October 1988 when she was again found capable of work. She was informed of the result of this second medical examination and requested to complete and return the appropriate form if she wished to pursue an appeal. Return of the appeal form is still awaited.
