Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funds.

76.

asked the Taoiseach if he will give a breakdown of all national lottery funds allocated by him in 1988 to (a) each of the 68 women's groups formerly funded by the Council for the Status of Women (details supplied) (b) any other organisations of a similar nature catering for women, parents and children and (c) local community development associations.

National lottery funds are allocated through my Departments to arts, culture and Irish language related projects. To date in 1988, £11.813 million has been allocated. Details in relation to funding for specific projects were given in reply to Questions Nos. 65, 66 and 69 on 19 October 1988.

None of the groups listed by the Deputy are directly in receipt of funding from my Departments. However, all citizens, including women, parents and children, and the community in general stand to benefit as a result of this increased level of funding for arts and culture and Irish language related projects.
