asked the Minister for Defence the reason he has decided to abolish the payment known as the outpost allowance; if, in view of the hardship that this will mean for the soldiers concerned, he will reverse this decision; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Limerick West): Outpost allowance has not been abolished.
