asked the Minister for the Environment if, having regard to the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 51 of 27 October, 1988, his attention has been drawn to the proposals by Maynooth Community Council, Maynooth, County Kildare, for the provision of a sports complex including a swimming pool in co-operation with the local postprimary school; if he has received a request for funding for this project from the proceeds of the national lottery; if, in view of the fact that facilities when provided will be available for use by the entire community, he will give favourable consideration to this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I received an application for an amenity grant for this project on 3 March 1988. The project, together with all other projects brought to my attention, will be considered for grant assistance in the event of additional national lottery funds being made available for the scheme.
