Vol. 384 No. 4

Written Answers. - Representations to RTE.

75.

asked the Minister for Communications in respect of each member of the Government if, since he became a member of Government, he or any person on his behalf or on behalf of his Department had occasion to make representations to RTE about the content of any news or current affairs programme or the non-inclusion of any particular item in such programmes; if he will give details of any such representations that were made; the justification for same; the action, if any, which was taken as a result of any such representations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is not clear exactly what the Deputy is referring to. Government Departments under all administrations are in touch with the press including RTE on a daily basis about media issues.

If the Deputy has a particular case in mind he should be more specific.
