Vol. 385 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

99.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange for immediate payment of an installation aid grant to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

Before eligibility under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers can be determined, a detailed investigation of each application must be carried out. In this case the investigation had not yet been completed. If the applicant is found to be eligible, payment of the premium will be made in due course.

100.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who is an applicant for a sheep subsidy will be approved in view of the fact that the lack of inspection was due to a Departmental error and no fault of the applicant; and in view of the documentary evidence provided to prove that he had the sheep at the required time.

My Department has not yet completed its investigation into certain anomalies that have come to notice in relation to this application and a decision as to whether payment should or should not be made will be taken as soon as these investigations are completed.
