The latest available Garda statistics on drug seizures in the Dublin Metropolitan Area relate to the period 1 January — 30 September 1988. The information sought in the question about the amount and type of drugs seized there during that period is set out in the attached tabular statement. The total number of seizures in the DMA in that period was 930 and proceedings were initiated against a total of 837 persons. A breakdown of these latter figures by Garda district is not readily available.
