Vol. 386 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

76.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a calf subsidy payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person named will be paid his 1988 calf premium as soon as the batch which includes his payment is processed. Under the 1988 suckler cow scheme an applicant's farm income must be at least 50 per cent of his total income. As the person named has an off-farm income, his farm income is to be assessed shortly to determine whether he is eligible for payment under the scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a calf subsidy payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The person named has already been paid his 1988 calf premium scheme grant. He did not apply for grants under the 1988 suckler cow or special beef premium schemes and he is not eligible for grants under the 1988 cattle and equines, beef cow or sheep headage schemes as his lands are outside the disadvantaged areas.
