The development of post-primary facilities in Mountmellick will be by way of a single community school for the centre resulting from the amalgamation of St. Mary's College and the vocational school.
Architectural planning of the project has reached Stage 2 (outline sketch scheme) and is currently being examined in my Department. However, it is not possible to indicate when construction work will commence as the rate at which any such project may advance is dependent on the availability of capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.
